Hey everyone,
Just wanted to drop a couple of new photos and a review of Tamiya’s Panzerkampfwagen.

The Build
The parts went together very well and were molded with no flash to file. The kit provides one figure…a tank commander, and parts to assemble the vehicle…including the usual spare wheels and tools found mounted to the body.
Otherwise no addtional details were provided…The four desert figures were also from tamiya but are found in another separate kit.
Decals provided to build three separate tanks includes ones on the Western and Eastern fronts of Europe.
Painting
I painted her in a two tone camouflage using tamiya acrylics desert tan and red brown.
The inside of the turrent was sprayed flat white and the tracks were painted with mixes of browns and drybrushed with steel. The tools were painted using a mix of metalic grey and gunmetal.
Details
Many of the hatches including the front two driver’s and gunner’s hatches can be positioned open or closed as well as hatches along the turrent and at the rear where the engine compartment is located
An engine or interior detail however are not included.
Decals
The decals as usual went on easily. Tamiya’s are usually very good. I used a flat overcoat of model master lacquer to finish it off
Overall there were several parts to make for a fun and interesting build…Taking into account the moderate price tag and the effortless ease of fit, I’d recommend this kit to anyone who’d like to add a popular panzer to their armor collection.
Take care,
Tankbuster
Looks great but the photos are a little out of focus.[:)] I have the same kit on the back burner. The camo job looks great. Any chance of seeing some more photos?
Very nice, clean build you have there. Thanks for the review, too
Hey Bismark,
I appreciate your interest in the model… would love to help you out…
Sometimes when the dig cam I use is low on batteries, pictures do come out of focus a bit especially when enlarged.
I’ll be sure to take a bunch of photos and post them on the site or email them to you.
I used a badger double action airbrush for this one…I started with the based coat of desert yellow and used a fine needle to free hand spray the red brown pattern…I later went back after drying and touched up areas of the desert yellow to blend the camo well.
Thanks
Tank

The photos are a bit out of focus, but from what I can see it looks as if you’ve done a commendable job. Hope to see more soon.

Thats how I do my airbrushing as well. I have a couple of omni 4000’s and I have one set up for the finer work (needle cover reversed) and the other for doing the larger areas. The camo scheme looks great.
Looks like a pretty clean build and the camo turned out well. A little suggestion on the decals.Try applying a gloss first, then apply the decals, coat with a gloss. Finally apply a dullcoat. This will eliminate the silvering. Thanks for sharing.
Hey gang,
Just wanted to reply to this so you might see some new and more clear photos of the tank. Hope you enjoy.
Great Pz IV. Nice freehand camo. Are those the kit tracks? Vinyl by chance? They look very good. You did a good job painting/drybrushing them. [tup]
Very clean build. Did you apply a wash to it?
Looks great. Thanx for sharing. Bryan
Hey everyone,
Those are the kit tracks…They were molded very well in a metalic color…so I painted them with an earth brown and highlighted them by drybrushing them with steel and gunmetal. They fit nicely.
I used an overspray of earth tone browns including model master leather to get a mud effect.
Thanks for your input and comments.
Tank.
