Hello or as we say here on Guam USA Hafa Adai (like aloha in Hawaii) but we are over the date line closer to P.Islands. I am very new to this and hope I post correctly.
I have been building models for 40 years and it is my stress relief. Enjoy all models, especially automobile and ships and helicopters. Prior Navy (radarman and anti-sub warfare) Tin-Can sailor. I hope to learn from fellow modelers and vice versa. I am a researcher, writer, reporter for a business mag here in Micronesia. (Day Job). Look forward to meeting new people and friends who also enjoy this great hobby.
Latest model built Bell 47D Helo (MASH) and have a Alfa Romeo Brabham BT-46 in progress—Engine alone and rear suspension took nearly 80hr. 1/20 scale.
Hope this message gets out. First time I’ve ever posted to a site. Guam is a small place, one small hobby store that is mainly R/C stuff…too expensive for me…love static display. Question, do I need a name for posting?
If so my nickname is Gumby—I’m kinda of clumsy, but build pretty good models I think. Have a good day from Guam, “Where America’s Day Begins!”[:)]
Hey, Eric. Welcome to the forum.
Do us a favor and post a few pictures of that Alfa/Brabham - I’d love to see it. 80 hours?Holy moly. Must be a beauty.
Cheers
LeeTree
Youve already got a name, Im afraid. I guess that just like me youre stuck with your real name. Btw, isnt “Gumby” the handle given out by naval aviators to new aircrews who dont have handles yet?
Hi all. Just logged onto this. Computers are not my friends. I build 1/48 aircraft. I do have a question. Im interested in the paint job of a Corsair which I believe Hobbycraft makes with what looks like a multi-colered camo job. Not sure of country. Any clues? Is this kit a good one to build?
Welcome to the forums. You might want to post a separate topic for your introduction. Click on the “post new topic” toolbar at the bottom of this page.
Check out the Aircraft forum, the guys there might help you out on your query.[:)][#welcome]
Hafa adai! I’ve been to Saipan twice, and had that phrase drilled into me! That’s Chamorro, right? Actually, I was on Guam for all of 45 minutes this past August. Looked nice from the airport!
Welcome to the forums, and I hope you have a great time here.
Welcome, Its not 80hrs of work its 80hrs of love. Nothing is a better stress reliever than modeling. Or a better cure for writer’s block. My research paper is writing itself practically[:D] And all I did was lay some stuff out for later and I now have creativity to burn.
