In my experience, a good handle on the basics is the best way to a “fine scale model”. Seam filling, preservation of surface details, paint and decal applications are the foundations of any good model. Once you have these down, then detailing, kitbashing and aftermarket sources will help take you to the next level. Good luck and remember that we are all constantly learning, so ask questions!
