Hey there! Just getting back into modeling. I used to build a lot of cars when I was a kid, but that was a long time ago! I just turned 50, and kind of got back into it the last few months. Now I’m more interested in airplanes(prop). Tanks and armor interest me too (it gives me a chance to play with the airbrush that I just HAD to have :P). I only build 1:72 scale. What do you guys do with all those “big” models when you finish them, anyway? Also interested in dioramas, hence the small models. Well, I have a lot of questions and I hope to find some answers here. Hopefully I can offer some help too, eventually! By the way; what do you do when you’re 90% done with a P51 and you realize the front part of the canopy is missing from the kit? Cry?
Hello and welcome to the FSM froum(s).
You can try contacting the manufacturer for a new canopy, see if there ais an aftermarket one , or maybe someone here has a spare.
Welcome to FSM Mose. Just post your questions and I’m sure you’ll find plenty of answers here. Enjoy the forums !
Mose, welcome aboard. Hope you’ll enjoy the site and hope we’ll get the opportunity to know you a bit better. - Ed
Claymore, Sherman,Keyworth, Ed(?)Thanks for the welcome! I’m looking forward to learning some things here. I feel like I can ask some dumb questions and not feel like an idiot. That’s important! Part of my job in the trade show business involves taking what our sales staff comes up with on paper to reality on the trade show floor, so I’m not new to “creative thinking”. I’m already thinking of a way to make that P51 windshield out of stretched clear scrue and Testors “Clear parts cement and window maker” :-). That’s on a back burner now, though. Did halftracks ever have camoflage or were they just olive drab? Off to the forums! God Bless you all…Mose
