Heavy thunderstorm moved through the area, dropped quarter-sized and larger hailstones. My wife’s truck was parked outside, no idea how/if damaged it is. But it definitely gives you an appreciation for the power of nature.
wow! Dont get that to much over here!
That would probably create a mess with a car. Yeah, that’s bigger than what we get too.
In the 23 years I’ve lived in the El Paso area, I’ve never seen hail that big before. Usually it’s pea-sized or maybe marble sized, but these were massive. Lasted for about 30 minutes. No damage to my wife’s truck that I could tell but I’ll have to check again this afternoon to be sure. We have a big elm tree in the front yard and I think it helped shield it somewhat. I sent those photos to the local KFOX news station and got “5 seconds of fame” and an on-air congrats for using a ruler to show the true scale. [(-D]
I’ve seen hardball sized hail in Alberta. Mother Nature is a female dog at times.
Earlier this year we had a freak hail storm in San Francisco. In my over twenty years of living in the Bay Area I have never seen the like of it. I had to drive in it to pick up my wife from work. The hail was up to dime size, not as bad as yours, but it came down steady for twenty minutes to half an hour. Peolple were making snowmen from it, but it was definitely hail, not snow. While driving I was being hit by it from all directions as it bounced off the road. here are a couple of pictures from our storm. The worse part was driving up our hill, I lost traction going up it a couple of times. Good thing I grew up in snow and knew how to drive in it.
If there are dents, check out DentWizard or the like…any paintless dent repair. I have been amazed at what they could get out of cars
