aparently they used mus instead of paint to camouflage the fehicle wich around (for modellers) the normal chip areas is stil the green nato camo pattern
It’s reminiscent of the same thing done by both the early German forces in N. Africa as well as the US forces in Tunisia. Nothing like local dirt to “blend in” with…and by the looks of it, when it drys it’s fairly hard/durable.
I’m pretty sure the Germans also occasionally did it to there whitewashed vehicles towards the end of the winter to help fade it, or in one case, the crew mudded up the tank right after the techs did the whitewsh because it was too bright for the not totally snowy area they were in.
I bet they paid some 5 year old kids good money to do that to! Lucky kids [:D]

Woah, very cool. It looks like some un-thinned cheap water based craft paint could represent that look pretty nicely with the bumps and globs and brushmarks still visible. And what, may I ask is that mean looking gun the guy in the the first picture has in his lap? That thing looks like it just dropped straight out of Star Wars- or maybe hell.
It’s a short barreled variant of the FN Minimi, the “Para” version.
Who knows guns on the forum better than FSM’s own, Gun Tech! thanks man. All I know for Modern weapons is M249’s, M4’s and…wait…thats all I know.
The storage rack on the hood seems to be made from a cut-down Hesco Barrier as well

I remember reading that the 82nd AB did this to their vehicles when they first deployed to the mid-east during Desert Storm.
