How about an re-tooled 1/48 or 1/32 A-6E Intruder. I would love to get Revell to re-release this kit with recessed panel detail. Also to stop those unscupulous sellers on ebay from jacking up auction prices on that kit.
someone mentioned the OV-10, one of my favorites…testors did put out a 1/48 Bronco, and as with all their kits, it had no real interior detail. But the kit itself could be built into a reasonably decent model with some work–I have done a couple of them. Would love to see a new-tool one too, maybe even a 32 scale one.
P-61, definitely…I must have built 4 or 5 of those old monogram kits!
A-37 in 32 scale?? I would be all over that one!
I would really like to see a 1/32 scale Tigercat myself, as well as a 32 scale Skyray. Let’s throw on a 32 scale Skyraider too–its a huge plane and in 32 scale it would be massive.
Someone also mentioned a 1/48 F-86 Sabre, but Hasegawa already made a 1/48 F-86F-30 variant. I have one in my “hopefully I will get to it soon” stack.
I would LOVE to find a large scale RF-101C too…I am tired of only finding the F-101B Monogram kit as the only Voodoo out there. The RF-101 always looked cleaner to me.
Other than those, I am in the middle of trying to get together every WWII fighter I can find in 1/32 scale. From all countries…the Germans, Americans and Brits are of course easy. Not too many Russian, Italian or French planes out there, and even several of the Japanese planes are missing in that scale.
I would like to see someone do a Good 1/48th Banshee. Classic Airframes announced one, than backed out. I would also Like to see a 1/48th Privateer(I can’t remember the Navy designation, for sure. I think it was a a PB4Y.(single tailed version of the B-24)
As for the Ju-88 in 1/48, how about that dragon kit?
I would like to see the Cheyenne atack helicopter, any scale, maybe that’s something for mpm/special hobby.
And the Pander Postjager, beautiful plane. Doesn’t have to be state of the art, or even short run. I would be a happy camper if somebody just made a vacform of the plane.[^]
There is a Revell/Monogram Ju-88 in 1/48th out there.
I picked up mine at Hobby Lobby a while back.
Since they throw in a lot of spare parts, although it is the night fighter version, it could easily be built as a day bomber simply by omitting a lot of the night stuff.
There’s a number of kits I’d like to see as new tools, kits that are available but I think need serious sprucing up. A handful that I think would really benefit in 1/48 would be(in no particular order)
P-40B (what’s out has various issues, could be so much better)
F5-E or F
Gotha bomber
He 111
Mig-29 and Su-27 (The Academy kits are not bad, but I think Tamiya or Hasegawa could really improve on them)
OV-10 Bronco (this is begging to be redone)
F-20 Tigershark
S2/S3/ES-2 family
V-22 Osprey
Su-25
B-52 (has no one the courage to do this in quarter scale!!?? Come on!!! [}:)] )
