New Jeep pickup kit

Was in Hobby Lobby yesterday and found the Revell kit of a 1980 Jeep J-10 pickup. Called “Ice Patrol”. Kit #85-7224

Has grille guard, lights, roll bar, couple of gas cans, tool box, and snowmobile. Honcho decals in blue and orange. Cab, fenders and bed are one piece mold. No back glass, but has a louvered cover over the back window. Appears to be a new mold, date of 2016 on inside of body shell, molded in white and clear, no “chromed” parts at all.

Released in 2017, with the 40% coupon was $18.00. It knew I was a full size Jeep nut, so it followed me out the door.

Now if we could get a Wagoneer and wide track 2 door Cherokee…

The Jeep Honcho has been out for 30 some odd years. Originally it was in black, then I remember a Mad Max blacktop warriors version in pink. Another version had the cap on the bed.

There were 3-4 boxings of that one. Hard to come by and everyone thinks big $$$ when they pop up.

Since I don’t have one of the older kits, can’t say how much is shared, but the main body is dated 2016. Found a 1981 date on the transfer case crossmember on the frame.

Do we see this one going on the bench anytime soon? [whstl]

I’ll probably get started on it in a couple of weeks when my lady heads off to Europe for 3 weeks. Will do a WIP on it when I do.

Give me chance to check out my new 1mm chrome pen.

You’re really gonna like that thing. You outta try getting one of those 30ml refill bottles and airbrushing it on something. I just shot some on a set of resin wheels that I’ll be using on my latest build. After that you just seal it with Spaz Stix Ultimate Clear and you’re off to the races! 6gears
