New GB idea: RAF WWII Bomber Command.

Hi guys,

I have an idea: I would like to start a new Group Build in a few days.
This will be the name: RAF WWII BOMBER COMMAND GB.
I’ll still have to think about the dates, or maybe just no ending date…
All scales are welcome.
I’m starting thisone because I’m currentely working on the Revell 1/72 Lancaster Dambuster, just as JoeRugby.
You can post a reply here if you’re interested, but check the Group Build-forum next days.

Cheers,

Jürgen

Sounds interesting !

Hey maybe I’ll be in, too!

I have a questions. How does a person join a group build?(I have not yet) What are the rules for group builds? I have a 1/48 Lancaster that I have been putting off building, maybe this is the push that I need. Any information is appreciated.

Would this be a RAF bomber GB basically?

You just go to the GB forums, search for a GB that you want to join, post a reply where you tell: I’m in and make sure that you also tell wich model you’re building. Then wait till the starter of the GB, has putten your name on the first page, and then you’re in. Just use the pic of the groupbuild (you can find it on the first page of the topic) , and paste the url in your signature. VOILA!!

Cheers,

Jürgen

As there don’t exist a lot of RAF WWII bomber kits we could do the following:

  1. We can make it WWII ALLIED BOMBER COMMAND GB.
  2. Or… we could also let fighter-bombers in this GB. So any plane can join, as long as it has bombs or rockets under the wings…

So? What will it be?

Cheers,

Jürgen

I think doing just Allied bombers would be more attractive than opening it up to fighter-bombers but you’re dead right about the lack of kits.

You can easily find Lancasters, Wellingtons, Blenheims, Halifaxes, etc. but there aren’t any 1/48 kits of RAF bombers.

If you open it up to US bombers, there will be many more options.

Actually there are some 1/48 kits…but they are $$$…Tamiya makes some Lanc kits…I believe there are Blenheims…and the halifaxes are soon to be out if not already…

liketo be in on this one ,doing halifakb3 slightly different finishing it markings of one of two sent to s.e.a.c theatre of ops.
