New Dragon 1/35 tanks with Zimmerit

Hello !

I wish everyone a belated Merry Christmas . I am debating on purchasing a Dragon 1/35 King Tiger ( Henschel Turret ) with zimmerit . Is the zimmerit realist in texture and scale ? I realize it is not chipped or worn on the kit . I have done my own zimmerit on German Tanks , and it turns out " OK " , or looks out of scale in some cases , too thick , on 1/35 scale Armor . I do just fine with 1/25 or 1/16 scale armor . Any comments from the " Zimmerit Guys " out there ? Thanks in advance , and Happy Year’s to you all . So take care , and Happy Modelling . Looking forward to another Great Year in this Forum !

PERSEVERANCE

PS A long while ago , in this Forum , people were wondering what kit Dragon , would put out next , and in my reply I mentioned a tank with zimmerit , due to the moulding technology available . I guess to me anyway it is a dream come true .

Got to sign out now , the Gal is getting excited …About the New Year’s Party . LOL

I received Dragons KingTiger Porche turret with Zimm for christams. I think that the zimmerit is very well done. I am no expert on it but in my opinion it looks great.

I think it looks quite convincing. If you want to simulate damage, you can sand it down or maybe fill it in.

It’s pretty nice, here is a close look at mine

Got a Henschel for Christmas…looks good to me! Oh…one part I did note was there are no locating marks on the turret for where to place the spare tracks hangers.

Now…doing the kit justice…that’ll be the hard part.

Here’s mine; I’m sold!!!

…there are some areas that need to be corrected and worked with to appear “seamless”…
