DML’s new Tiger I initial s.Pz.Abt. 502 Leningrad Regiment is being listed on their website as a May, 2010 release!
I don’t recall any announcement from them about it, but it is listed on DragonUSAonline.com as a preorder- either search “DRA-6600” or look at the bottom of the ‘latest announcements’ page.
I don’t know about the rest of you Germaholics, but I’m excited about this because I love the look of the early Tigers with the rubber-rimmed road wheels and I don’t currently have any. I wonder how difficult it will be to add the spare Feifel air cleaners and what-not from the CyberHobby Gruppe Fehrmann kit to this new release to make a Tropen Tiger…
Dre this an awesome kit. Right out of the box it’s a great build. I would say build it as the Leningrad early Tiger and if you want the Tropen version go with the Tamiya kit. This way you’ll have both versions. (Can’t have to many Tigers[;)])
I saw this as well…looks like a re-pop of their very first Tiger release several years ago that is so difficult to find these days and goes for megabucks on places like Ebay.
However, it looks like they turned the kit into a SMART version which means a lot less parts and work—sorta like they did with their first 88 and Mk IV releases…
Looks like all of the schemes that come with the kit are for Tigers around Leningrad in late '42 with the 502nd…
