New compressor setup: advice wanted

Heya, fellas. I am considering revamping my compressor situation in the new year. Currently I have an unmarked, unknown brand compressor (hobby size, black and orange, seem to recall it being European?) that I have forgotten the brand of. This sits in a noise-suppression box that I built with a rocker-type light switch to power it on and off. This is a noisy compressor, and I want to replace it.

What I am looking at is an air pig connected to my brushes, and refilling this from time to time with my small construction air compressor. This too is a noisy solution, but at least the noise is concentrated into the filling of the tank now and again, instead of constantly during the painting session. My concern is that I will be interrupting painting to refill the pig more often than I want. I tend to spray at 10-15psi, so it should take a while to empty that carrier when filled to 70psi.

Alternatively, I could pick up one of the WhisperAire compressors, said to be barely louder than a whisper.

Thoughts and advice?

Interesting find. Did something happen to WhisperAire? I just found the exact same compressor on Bear Air for $40 less, but it is called a Polar Bear brand. Identical.

Has anyone used one of the Husky “quiet” compressors?
