I just ordered my new airbursh yesterday. i ordered a Badger 200NH delux set. I can’t wait to get it in the mail. It should be here by Friday. I have bought a new model just for it. The first thing i’m going to use it for is to paint my new Me-262. I want to thank everyone for all the advice that they gave me. I cant wait!!!
Congrats and good luck with the new airbrush! the excitement of getting a new one never wears off. I just got my 6th brush delivered Fri and from the day I ordered it on, I was checking the UPS site making sure it was on-time for delivery! [(-D]
haha no it’s the 6th I’ve owned, not have… I gave the other 4 away, it’s my excuse to the wife for buying a new one… “Honey, you know I sent the other brush to that guy in Singapore… now I need something to replace it!” [;)]
Actually I am fighting my natural pack rat nature by giving them away before the end up stored somewhere taking up more space… I can see with the two I have at present I might be slower in giving out brushes in the future though, I think one more brush and I will be ok for awhile…
BTW: what’s the size of the fine needle on the 100LG? just curious…
a worry-wart big time[(-D][(-D] especially when it was 250 miles north[:-,][:o)] so, what happened to the other 5 brushes Tom???[:-^] sorry, couldn’t resist[}:)]
Keith, is that the "quick-change type, external mix brush? Well, congrats & enjoy your new toy[;)] I just got the Badger 175 & am eagerly awaiting the air line to arrive so I can try it out[:P]
That was tongue in cheek Tom as I have 12 airbrushes. [(-D]
Badger does not use measurements of needle and tip sizes to sell their products like Iwata does as it is irrelevant as to the line width it will spray. I could find out for you if it is that important to you. [;)]
Mike - no it’s not that important, just curious in case I want to go for more detail capability as I am getting more into 1/72 lately…
-=edit=-
oh yeah I know it was tongue in cheek… I’ve seen the pics! [;)] I really have to watch my pack-ratness though… after moving so often in the Navy I have this “if I have it over a year it is sentimental” attitude [(-D]
Plus there’s some cool people out there who need them more than I do!
I’am glad you all have discovered and wroung out the Airbrush. It will improve your abillity to spray paint finishes on your scale models like no other. The airbrush has been around for along time, glad to see you all get in tune. They paint fingernails with it. wedding cakes, and even serious art. The scale of finish layer in .ooo thousandths is why they made it. Newbies enjoy the fact that you can get small and find yourself in a spraybooth with your next build and paint it like it was built 1:1. You have entered the the fine art of scale model building. You are now hooked. Take a deep breath, and enjoy! These guys are good!
Congrats on the new airbrush Keith. I have the same airbrush, and have been very pleased with its performance and ease of use. It should be more than up to doing splotchy Luftwaffe camo.
It is marketed as an internal mix, although if one wants to split hairs, the paint hits the airstream ever so slightly outside the airbrush. Basically its a single action variation of their double action Anthem 155 sharing the same head, tip, and needle.
Huh? [%-)]
How does the paint hit the airstream ever so slightly outside the airbrush?
Air travels down the body of the airbrush across the needle and is met by paint at the siphon tube connection. Therefore it is an internal mix airbrush as opposed to the Paasche H which is a classic external mix model.
