PLA only, but a major hobby tool supplier getting in on the supply chain is good news.
Interesting but why no video of it actually printing something? They show a completed frog and smiley face and a few scenes that look like silly string or toothpaste being extruded but that’s it!!!
That is a lot of money. There are several 3D printers already on market for considerably less. Quite a few in the six to eight hundred range, and a few in the four to five hundred range.
As much as I’d like to see a 3-D printer available for everyday modeling use, $999 is a little steep for my retiree budget. $999 can buy a lot of scratch building materials for years.
Wait a few years. Just like anything else electronic, the price will come down as demand goes up and the technology behind it gets cheaper. Look at computers, for example…
