New 1/48 Tamiya Tiger I and Schwimmwagen

I’ve just gotten word that Tamiya will be releasing a 1/48 Tiger I (early production) and Pkw.K2 Schwimmwagen at the end of November. The Tiger will be 2,000 yen (about $18.00 USD) and the Schwimmwagen will be 1,000 yen (about $9.00 USD) here in Japan. This news comes to me via my buddies at Panzer Works, who are now doing research for a resin interior for the Tiger.

Great news for all those who have been yearning for some good 1/48 armor.[:D]

I’m sure there will be some official announcements from Tamiya soon, so keep your eyes and ears open![8)]

Saw that a while ago in some magazine. Should be awesome J-Hulk. Make sure you ship a few stateside when they come in [;)]

I think Tamiya has spoken and it suggest that they are turning 180 from 1/35 and heading into a new direction. That’s a shame for us 1/35 builders, but since I’ve gone with more Dragon kits of late, the impact might not affect me. On the other hand, it really opens doors for the 1/48 builders who want something to compliment their wingy things.

That will open lots of doors for combining Wingy Thingy’s and Armor! Will be interesting to see how much detail is there.
