Neo iwata??

I just purchased the neo iwata gravity feed and haven’t had the opportunity to use it!! I have however checked out some forums and I’m seeing very mixed emotions and results from folks! Has anybody used this model yet? If so please tell me what u think. By the way I’m a beginner w modeling and airbrushing.

It’s a nice airbrush for detail work. It is not great for broad coverage, as it puts out just a whisper of paint. The needle and nozzle are delicate, so be careful. Don’t push too hard when you install the needle, and be gentle when you tighten the nozzle. There is a review on my site that might be helpful.

Don

Yes thank you Don! Your site was one of the first sites that I stumbled upon. Very informative. The other sites that had negative feed back didn’t really say why other than it was a knock off iwata. Glad to hear its for detail because that mainly what I will use it for, 1:35 armor. One thing I’m not too find of is the delicate nozzle. I’ve stripped out the threads already on a generic airbrush with the same set up. Once again thanks Don, your insight was very well received.

I’m glad I could help. If you have problems you may need to thin your paint more. Try it with food colors or ink to see what it can do.

The nozzle doesn’t have to be very tight to seal. You will see bubbles in the cup if it doesn’t. You can probably get away with leaving it in place and flushing out the cup with an eyedropper and your cleaner of choice. I use a pumping action. Then pull the needle and wipe it clean. A dab of needle lube wouldn’t hurt.
