hey all…
Ive been collecting materials and tools to do a cutaway A/C (like the ones shown in finescale a few months back), but cant find a book with the cutaway engineering drawings in them. I know there out there, I used to have one a long time ago when I was young[8D]. If someone could provide me with a title it would be great. Im looking for one that covers wwII aircraft.
My good friend and fellow forum member Adam (AJACKETSFAN) sent me a very nice book last spring called “Warplanes of the Luftwaffe” (Aerospace Publishing, London).
It may not be the subject matter you had in mind, but there are many cut-away drawings within. I would imagine that the same publisher would have something similar for Allied A/C (especially being a British publication).
Do a Google for that publisher and you may get some hits.
You might start here: http://www.militaryfocus.com/osprey/aircraft-cutaways/
This is a series of books of aircraft cutaways put out by Osprey. I’ve seen some and they’re great, though not so cheap (about $30.00 new), but I think when I gooled “aircraft cutaways” I saw some ebay hits, so give it a shot.

Not sure what specific area you are interested, but I have this book… “An Illustrated Anatomy of the World’s Fighters: The Inside Story of over 100 Classics in the Evolution of Fighter Aircraft” which is pretty good… I used it to detail interiors of a Hasegawa clear A5m4 Zero. This is a link on Amazon…
Jim:
Try to find this one at Barnes & Noble Books:
“Classic World War II Aircraft Cutaways” by Bill Gunston (in association with The Aeroplane and Flight) ISBN 0-7607-1399-5. It concentrates on ETO and MTO aircraft, and has an wonderful selection of engine cutaways.
i used to have a few copys of this journal called “international air power monthly” and it had features on certain planes every volume and a pretty good cutaway of the featured plane. if you know which plane you want to do this would put you in good stead if you can find the right plane and corresponding issue.
