I am a retired Air Force and wish to complete models of the aircraft I worked during my service.
Does anyone know where I can get the following?
Boeing B-47 cold war era
Boeing B-52 cold war era
Douglas B-26 vietnam era
North American T28 attack verision vietnam era
Decals for F-100 super sabre 1960’s England era
1/48 or 1/72 scale would be great
Any help will be greatly appreciated

Not an airplane guy per se but online is a good start. There are some good links for online shops right on this site. I’m sure others will chime in with some more.

About 70% of my stash came from ebay ,run searches for your planes by name or more importantly by scale. Some of those may not exist in kit form ,some of the, uh , senior guys on here will be more informative.
About everything you asked about you can get on Ebay… Kits like the B-26 COINvader are pretty rare. Italeri put out a 1/72 scale version years ago, but it’s not around in hobby shops anymore, so Ebay is your bedt bet. The Revell (ex monogram) A-26 can be converted, but I don’t know any after-market kit for it, so it’s a scratchbuilding job (Happen to be doing one now).
The old Monogram B-52D kit in 1/72, Monogram 1/48th T-28, are on Ebay fairly often… Don’tknow about the B-47… I know Revell made a “Box Scale” Stratojet once upon a time, back in the 50’s, but those command pretty high prices now… See here at Old Model Kits . Com

At the top, use the search function and pick from the menu: Military Aircraft/Any Manufacturer/Any Scale/ and then type in the text box, “B-47”
They show about 8 kits, the Old Revell one I spoke of, plus Hasegawa and Aurora…
If money is no object, then thaey will likely have any kit you want if it was ever released in plastic, but you’re gonna PAY for it…

B-47 - Hasegawa 1/72 There was a crude 1/48 vacuform kit, can’t remember who made it.
B-52 - Monogram 1/72
B-26 - Italeri 1/72 or for 1/48 Paragon made a conversion for the Monogram kit (I believe it is OOP though)
T-28 - Heller 1/72 or Monogram 1/48

Nope, no grief from posting links… It ain’t in the forum guidelines that it’s frowned upon, so I never gave it a second thought… Besides, I think OMK.com advertises in FSM…
As for judging the value of kits, I think OMK charges what they think they’re worth to a collector, because the prices certainly don’t interest me as builder…
Best way to judge, IMHO, is to see what they’ll offer you for a kit… That would be a good barometer as far as I’m concerned…
eBay has become a good source for judging the value of a kit. Unless the kit is super rare, there have probably been multiple sales on the kit within the last 90 days on eBay.
Rob That is why i asked that I am wondering if ebay IS good way there is so much over bidding on there. I think I will use both a a guide.
Thanks for all of the advice. In regards to buying on E-Bay if you are a builder and not a collector and don’t have an unlimited bank account then you can forget getting anything in the way of old aircraft kits.

The best I got from ebay is a lot of model/reference books I search -models/kits books .Lots of good books cheap
