Need some help with painting a Tiger Meet A-7E... (Some progress pics Jan. 6)

Hi guys, I have embarcked on my next model, I have chosen to build - have already started - Trumpeters 1/32 A-7E model. I want to build it into the following…

So, this leads me to my question, how should I go about painting this??

Also, for the tail art, and other markings, I have been able to get the tiger off the tail, and make it into a printable decal. The hard part for me is the greek flag that is below - could someone do this for me??[:D] I looked for online sources for these decals, but nothing.

Any other tips would be helpful,

Thanks, Anthony.

WOW that should Look GOOD if you can pull it off.

I looked but did not see any decals of the Tiger. Only thing I can say is I HOPE you are good at Photoshop [:-^]

Well you could always just crop some of the photos and print them out on decal paper…

Keep posting, let us know what you come up with

Good Luck

Bud

Anthony, I’d try to get my hands on the issue of FSM with the Tigermeet plane as the feature article. You could use some of the same techniques. Lots of masking and lots of painting. Light colors down first. You know the drill.

BTW saw one of your recent models over on aircraft resource center. congrats on getting a little display over there!

Thanks Rad, I was thrilled too[party]

I also have the issue you are talking about, I have read through it thoroughly and think I have an idea of what I am going to do[:-^]

Dubau, lol, I have been working on the images for hours, I have managed to get the tigers, I even managed to clean them up - no rivet or weld markings are there!

The only problem I am having is with the Greek flag that is lower below, I have tried and tried, but they just don’t seem to come out right[:(]

Heres what I have done with the Tiger…

That looks really cool, Anthony. Good luck and please post pics. I want to see this one! And why have you gone Greek on us? Was it the bullet you got from your GP?

60

Then again, I remember seeing your pic before.
Are you of Greek ancestry?

Lol, no not the bullet, I think it was after the F-16 I built, I find that the Greeks have a lot of cool looking stuff so I decided to build it[:D]

And yes, I am part Greek on my moms side - YA!

EDIT: This is what I mean when I say the Greek flag is being a Bth!

Looks like shit[:(]

COOL !

Might get you to make some for me [:-^]

Bud

I would not mind if I could get them to come out right[:D]

I know u already have it, but for good measure…

good luck!

Oh, if anyone wantedm they could “help” me make the flag[:D]

“Help” - make the flag and send it to me…

I’ll keep you all posted

Hey Anthony! You might give Mist086 a call. He is a member here and a graphic artist.

Check out this post.

Oh great! I’ll contact him ASAP:D

I have a question[D)]

Can I build my aircraft with one wing up and the other stright?? Or do I have to either have both down or both folded?

I asked that same thing about the F4U Corsair that I was building some time ago. As for as that old plane both wings went up and down at the same time. I don’t know about your plane, but it would be nice to know

Bud

Ok guys, here it is in primer…

btw, it’s big!

Ok guys, here are some pics of the cockpit, finished, other than needing a wash…

It’s all OOB.

Let me know what you think, if theres anything wrong - colors, part placement etc…

She’s looking GOOD so for the Office looks GREAT !

Two things I want to ask…

  1. It looks like you put it all togather 1st, then painted it, is that right and why ?

  2. You said it was big, can you put a bottle of paint next to it and post a pic of we can see how big she is ?

Thanks

Bud

Yes. that is what I did, I did it this way because it is very big in the cockpit which allowed for easy painting. With my 1/48 F-16 I had to paint the cockpit first and then put it in.

Here is a pic…

Cool and Thanks

Bud

Ok, here are some more pics, I have been on LEM so I have forgotten to post them here lol.

It may look a bit messy, but if not looking through a magnifier glass it looks ok.

I’ll try to keep this thread up to date.

Anthony.
