Need Semi Trailer Tires/Wheels

Hi there. I am making a semi and trailer here very soon. Problem is the trailer is a Italeri kit with the single large tires/wheels. I have to use it for the trailer itself but need the american style dual wheels/tires. They don’t necessarily have to be off a trailer. Rear tire/wheel setup from a semi would work too. If anyone has any or knows where to get them I’d really appreciate it!

1st pic is the kit with the single tires.

2nd pic is the style I need.

Italeri sells various truck accessory sets - I know one is all tires, and at least one other has wheels. I know I’ve seen duellie wheels in one of those sets. Check Ebay - search “Italeri 1/24 truck” and see what you get.

There is an aftermarket supplier named Spaulding that specializes in truck accessories that probably offers what you need. I think their full name includes the word trucking. Try a search on spaulding and trucking and models. Or look in the advertisers index in Scale Auto Enthusiast- I think Spaulding usually has an ad in SAE.

CodyJ, I have some extra tires and wheels from an AMT moving van trailer kit, will they work for you? give me a PM if they will.

I have extra sets of truck tires I sent you a PM earlier

Thanks Philo! Unfortunately I dont see 4 of the exact same semi tires. Thanks so much though I really appreciate it!!!

Yeah it was a mixed bag!

Yeah I’m finding this may be harder finding these than I thought. Here is a pic of the general style. I was able to find them for the first build but I dont remember what they came off of.

Hey Don. I did check out Spaulding but no luck. Thanks though!

Hi mate Try Auslowe model accesories in Australia they have everything for trucks,i mean everything hope this helps you out.

Ohh i forgot you will not get the duels to fit the trailer you have as the chassis of the trailer is to wide to take the duels,it has to be narrowed.

Tried Auslowe but with shipping it would be around $30 for just the wheels without the tires. I’ll have to keep looking. Thank you for the response though!

I finally found some locally. Guy at an antique/collectible store had some built ones. Thanks for all the suggestions and offers guys! I really appreciate it!

Cody, on trucks and trailers the wide tires and wheels fit the same axles and are back and forth interchangeable. They are called duplex tires and have the same load rating as duals but are a little lighter. Here in the west it is not unusual to see them, there is a local tank line that has some. Lowbed trucks and cement mixers use them on 18 and 20,000 pound front axles.

I have heard most people refer to them as “Super Singles”. I keep seeing more and more around.
