Need opinions about some kits....

Greetings and happy holidays… a close family member of mine is currently posted to Beijing, China. Upon learning about my “return” to the hobby of model building, went out and got me some kits… In the streets of Beijing… very generous, but you can imagine the quality! I am new to armor (still working on my FIRST tank  , so could I get some opinions on the following kits? Are they “dogs” because of poor fit, accuracy problems, both? Is it worth for a newbie to build these kits, even as practice? Or should they become (airbrush) target practice? Thanks for the input!

Lee 1:35 Leopard 2 No. 00306

Lee 1:35 M2A2 Bradley No. 00302

Trumpeter 1:35 M1A1HA w/TWMP MM-00335

Minihobby 1:35 Merkava II TN-80103

Thanks! Jim

Jim,

My experience with Chinese manufactured kits were too thick and had fitting issues. However, I’ve heard some good things about that Trumpeter 1/35 M1A1HA and should turn into a decent kit.

I really don’t know what to say about Lee and Minihobby kits because I’ve never built them before.

Make sure you wash those kits REALLY well because my Trumpeter kits were very greasy(?).

If the kits were free, they’re the best kits money can buy! [;)]

The Lee and Minihobby kits are very toylike. The Trump kit should result in a nice final project

Thanks for the input (and Happy New year!)… Yes, the Lee kits are fully motorized, not just the “holes” but the motor itself… may use them for AB practice, give one to my kid to build. Again, thanks for the info!
