ok…i’ve got now alot of cash stockpiled…lots of work and so on…but now im willing to buy alot of models. well my LHS is good but i just want to know what websites do you guys use…which ones are good and cheap or great shipping or just what you prefer. Im just curious as to get a poll of modeling websites.
My LHS…havent checked them out just yet…so i go Saturday and hope i comeback out…cause i can stay in there forever.

I agree about Greatmodels and Squadron. I have used both and had good experience. In Canada, Great Hobbies and Imperial Hobbies are both pretty good, although Great Hobbies selection has dropped in recent years. In the UK there is Hannants. A certain amount depends on what you are looking for. I would start with Greatmodels (www.greatmodels.com). Good sales, reasonable shipping etc.

GreatModels and Squadron are probably the best especially for those with limited access to good hobby shops. Watch GreatModels for their sales especially now till Christmas.

There’s a new kid on the block, well actually it’s Great Models new idea:

The concept is they only show what’s in stock and they are claiming “ship immediately with 100% fill rate”. Same owner, staff, and inventory as Great Model, but the data base doesn’t show OOS or pre-orders. I haven’t used them yet (my wife is still reeling over the last Great Models delivery!) but I will, oh yes indeed, I will!

Yeah, but you can order ONLY Tamiya or Revell-Monogram kits at those sites. Squadron and Greatmodels have nearly all of the different companies.

Also, you can do what I do- search for the particular model over Google or Yahoo, and try and find the cheapest offering (no matter where you get it).

Between Squadron and Great Models, I think you’ll get everything you want. Like Swanny said, you have already tagged the best three.

Lucien that was my point …you can only order the kits from tamiya and revell-monogram on the sites blackcat named… i was wanting an answer from him ,just curious why he named them.

You can get great bargains too on e-bay! But check the shipping first.

Thx guys much apreciated help here as my LHS has like nothin cuase its a small shop…very tiny and owned by one owner.

hehehe wow…these 3 are the only ones i’ve heard everyone here on these forums talk or mention when they reply that they got their shipment from…interesting…but THX alot guys!

I’ve had great success with Squadron and mixed results with Great Models. I also use Tower Hobbies (www.plastic-models.com). The prices are good, and the shipping’s usually really fast (only 3-4 days for me). I’d recommend them or Squadron very highly!
