Does anybody know of some good reference books for the LB-30B/Liberator I? I want to build LB-30B AL-613 which was a long-nosed Liberator reclaimed by the US from a Briitish order and used in the Aleutians and then reconfigured as a C-87. It seems there are a lot of books out there that consider the only Libs that existed as being the B-24D/J. I just got the one larger B-24 book from Squadron and it only has hardly a page on it.
Not sure if this will help, but doing a Goggle search for “Ol 927”, “Diamond Lil”, or “commemorative air force” will bring up photos and such of their B-24A which I think is pretty close to the LB-30. HTH! [tup]
Log of the Liberators by Steve Birdsall has some photos and reference materials about the LB/30. It was published by Doubleday in 1973. I can try to photocopy the pages and send them to you as j-pegs if you send me your e-mail address.

Check out Wix Hanger and the Diamand Lil link, the CAF’s B-24A, is being un-modified from her second original mod as a LB-30. Biggest difference I know of the LB-30’s and most -24’s is the early A’s and LB-30 used different engine pods which are from the PBYs and are round not oval.
Lots of photos out there of the rebuild.
