Need Help with Track options for Academy's M10 GMC

Ok I have the Academy M10 GMC and I only have 1 little gripe. It comes with T49 3 bar cleat tracks which after seaching all the pic’s in my referemce books seem to be only used for french or british M10’s…

I am considering my options to chage these to either T51 rubber block or a T48 Rubber chevorn both of which seem to have been widly used on U.S. M-10’s

My questions are

Does anyone out there know if any of the rubber band tracks from any other sherman kits be it tamiya or other fit the academy M10 GMC and if so which ones?

or does any of the AFV club rubber band style Sherman tracks fit this tank…

Also does anyone know how the AFVClub T48 Rubber chevern indie track links stack up… They look nice but would like to know for sure if there is enough links before I order it…

any help on info on the tracks would be helpfull. thanks…

also considering order the verlinden M10/M36 storage set… is it a good set.

thanks again all.

I’ve seen a few photos taken in the pacific of US Shermans with three bar cleats. While I don’t have any specific knowledge of what will fit and what won’t, it’s still a Sherman chassis so any Sherman track should fit with a minimum of wrestling. The only experience I have with AFV club tracks is with the rubber band three bar cleats. I had to stretch them quite a bit to fit my Dragon Firefly.

thanks for the reply… I went to a local hobby shop yesterday and purchased another kit just so I could have a correct type of track for this M-10 as none of the places around here have any and I didn’t feel like waiting for one in the mail.

I picked up Tamiya’s M4A3 75mm Sherman. after laying out the tracks on the desk they are pretty close to the exact same size so I expect them to fit fairly well. and that kit came with T48 Rubber chevron tracks without duckbills which is one of the 2 most used (at least in my reference books) tracks in the european theater. the other being the T51 rubber block.

and yep the 3 bar cleats were used in the pacific because of their better traction.

oh and not all shermans had the same length track. The M4A4 hull had to be lengthened to accomidate a chrysler multi-block one of my books mentions this caused the tank to be 11 inchs longer… also the Sherman Firefly V was based on the M4A4 hull.
