Need help with my zero !

Hello all,
I’m building the hasegawa 1/72 Mitsubishi A6M5c Zero and i don’t know what color should i paint the wire antenas, who can help me? Should i paint it of the color of the aircraft (green), silver, aluminium???

Did they paint the wire antennas in WW II?
What should be their natural color?
I really apreciate your help on this one!

hi[:)]
i’m no expert but surely in 1/72nd it doesn’t matter anyway?! those things are SOOO small!![:p]
a very dark metallic grey or just plain old black will probably do you fine[;)]
regards,
nick

The wire was wire, unpainted as far as I know. I use monofilimant 2lb. fishing line or stretched sprue for antenna wire and usually don’t paint it at all since in 1/48 scale and smaller it would be almost invisible. If you want it painted, use a dark steel or even black, but be careful. Iv’e seen a lot of otherwise nice models with heavy, out of scale painted/droopy antennas that ruined the build.

Hi,
If you don’t all ready have your antennae on then black fly tying thread would be a great choice too. It is super thin, very strong and works great for aircraft antennae for both 1/72nd and 1/48th scale.
