For my current dio im trying to have a medow - grassy field. its a small dio with a couple of figures. I bought so Woodland scenics field grass. Now heres the problem: The directions in the Woodland Scenics book tell me to dab some white glue to the base and then grab some field grass and apply it. However its not that easy, [banghead] every time i try to apply it, it simply either leans sideways, or just falls over, i even tried super glue, but got the same results.[:(!]
Anyone got an easier idea of how to apply this stuff???
Punch a small hole in your groundwork, then stuff a clump of grass in it with a bit of glue on the end. Very time consuming but effective.
The grass on the picture shown was done this way.
I do the same as Shermanfreak. Except when I allready have the dirt glued on i poke a hole in the dirt so there is a small hole there. I used hobbytak and put a little drop in the hole. Then I cut the grass to size and put it in the hole. It ends up looking like the picture above. Weve all got our ways. Hope it helps!
T-34 - look for a product called Woodland Scenics at a train store near you. They have lots of “grasses”. Something else that can be used is horse hair.

Maffen, the trick is tell her you want to get “HER” a horse.
I use cisal rope or hemp rope or twine. Makes a nice straw or tall grass.
Woodland Scenics grass can be stood up by lightly blowing on it or… take something that produces a static charge, i.e. a piece of mylar you rub on your carpet, a balloon you rub on your head and or the dog or cat and lightly pass it iver the grass. The static electricity will make some grass material stand on end. Once up, some of it will stand, some will fall back down, but on the whole looks pretty good.
