Need Help With Definition

My brother came into possession of a very large WW 11 German flag. I found a picture matching it with measurements equal to it. It was described as an RAD flag. Does anyone know what RAD stood for? Would appreciate any info that one of you might have.

Something like this??

Modelmuseum, The one my brother has is much larger than that one with a different pattern. It measures 7 feet wide by 12 feet in length. The pattern is in the white field above the swastika. There is picture of an identical flag at www. war relics. com. The one at the website you provided is different from the one my brother has. Thanks, hope to hear from you again.

RAD stands for Reichsarbeitdienst, or German National Work Service.

Reichsarbeitdienst

Here’s a page with some info concerning various RAD flags. I dunno how complete this is, as I really don’t know much about the subject.

My thanks to all who responded. Blackwolf3945take2, we found the flag pictured at the site you gave us. It came from a female youth camp. It is good to have so many friends to call out to. Merry Christmas to all.

Glad to be of help! Hope you had a good Christmas as well…
