Need help with a missing part

Hey guys I’m in a pickle. I have an OLD Italeri kit, number 808 a 1/48th U-2C that I’ve started, but realized that I’m missing the left horizontal stabilizer. Now I know the model companies will sometimes help in such situations, but I highly doubt they would have the part I need.

What I’m asking is if anyone has a similar part from another U-2 kit that they aren’t going to use, I would gladly pay shipping and whatever reasonable “handling fee” requested. Thanks in advance and apologies if this isn’t allowed.

Just laminate some sheet styrene until you have the correct thickness and copy the the horizontal stab that you have…

Sounds like the way to go. Or, you could make a resin casting of the existing stab, if you have the stuff. I once duplicated a part by making a mold of modeling clay and filling it with epoxy- but it was a small part. The larger stab may not be suitable for this method.

Just a thought. Since you have the other one, you could take a shot at making one.
