I am currently working on Academy’s 1/72 B-17g Carolina Moon in which I’m scratch building the radio compartment. The problem is the decal #1 for the instrument panel #j16 is slightly bigger than the panel. Any help would be nice.
Maybe you could reduce the #1 decal by a few percentages at a copy shop photocopier. Then print it on decal-printable paper. I’ve never used that stuff before, but I know it’s available.
Hope that helps. Take care,
Mark
roadrunner i am looking at the kit right now. the decal is, as you said, much too large for the piece. i would suggest making another piece that fits the decal. i dont see anyway to trim the decal down to fit the piece. if you have a piece of flat styrene that would work. a for sale sign or something similar would be the same type of material.
hope that helps a little.

If it’s a 1/72 kit you probably won’t be able to see it anyway unless you used a flashlight and magnifying glass. The 50 cal should obstruct most of the overhead window and I’m sure it’s a might thick for scale further distorting you vision of it. A 1/48 kit of an F with open top hatch would be worth a lot more effort.
thanks for the help fightnjoe your advice helped alot. I’ll try to get some pics of her in soon.
