I’m using the Future/food coloring method. Have any of you done this? The tint is going on really thin and I was wondering if this is normal. I may need to add more coloring. Any tips/comments would be appreciated.

I tried using a broad flat brush and that works a little better than dipping (quicker anyway). It’s for an F-16 canopy if anybody is wondering.
What color are you trying to tint the canopy. I have had success with the Tamiya clear colors. Clear Red, Clear Green, Clear Yellow, etc.
Oh yeah. It looks better if you paint/spray the clear color (i.e., Clear Green) on the inside of the canopy.
I tinted my F18 Blue Angels canopy with yellow food coloring and Future and didn’t have a problem at all.
I put a little Tamiya Smoke in some Future and tinted my F15E canopy, again, without any problems at all.
I use green food coloring and Future to tint the Green House windows on helicopters and have no problem brushing it on. . .
Don
I put some Tamiya Green (solid, not clear) in Future. It didn’t seem to mix completely, but it sprayed okay - on the inside of the part - for a green tint on UH-60 overhead windows.
