hey everybody i know its been awhile since i been here but between work and building i dont get on much more, but i do have a question and i hope yall can help.i was wanting to simulate a bradley m2a2 fireing either a tow missle or its 20mm chain gun how could i go about doing that? i thought about cotton for the smoke trail it leaves when it goes off but im not too sure how about going about that any advice? please let me know
well, you could do what shep pain did in his book how to build dioramas 2nd edition, and put a brass rod in the smoke trail and atach the tow missle to the brass rod, the item im reffering to is on page 33, you can check it out if youd like.
wait…you dont need to hide the wire! TOWs are wire guided missles! Just get a thin rod, bend it a little bit (I think the wire waves up and down a bit as the missle flies) and add a little bit of smoke from the rocket.
In real life, rockets dont give much smoke when in flight anyways
I used the wire and cotton trick on a battleship model a while back. Made a small shell from scrap spru and attached it to the wire, the first thin layer of cotton I a/b a litght red-orange, then layered some white and grey cotton on top. May not win awards but I liked the result. Had the Iowa in a full broadside.
