I am working on a Sherman Firefly while the paint drys on my King Tiger. I need references for Fireflies that took part in XXX Corps dash to Arnhem during Market Garden. Anyone know of an online source or a book with photos in it?
I am not sure about who and where, but I have the book Battle for Antwerp by J.L. Moulton. The 11th armored division has a few photos of their shermans: (1) a couple of shermans in street scene with crowds of people, (2) a sherman with add-on armor and a bunch of kids, maybe 3rd RTD, (3) beautiful photo of sherman with long barrel and blast deflector, add-on armor belonging to the Fort garry horse, 2nd Canadian Infantry Division. (4) Particial side/rear views ot three more shremans belonging to the same outfit.
If you think these would be of any use to you let me know and I’ll scan and post.
Minor point,
but a subject title such as “Sherman Firefly/XXX Corps refs for Arnhem / Market Garden”
may elicit speedier, more cogent replies… I will check my refs for you, though
