NEED HELP ! Amer.Eurocopter A320 Medflight(or convertible) in any scale?

Hi everybody! I would like to build a model of the helicopter that our local MedStar heliheroes ride. I would like to find it in different scales if possible, but ANY scale will work. I can (and will) order from overseas. I usually build 1/72 Armor and dioramas. I was inspired to try this out when I had the opportunity to watch these guys at work. If any body knows of a source anywhere please let me know. I will check for replies every chance i get. THANKS!

oldsoldier,
Is that an A320 or A350? I was thinking the A320 was the Canadian version of the EH-101. If it’s the A350 (called A-Star here in the states … called Ecureuil, French for Squirell in Europe) I’ve got two copies in 1/48th scale. If I recall, they are Heller kits. I know one is a fire fighter version with the water tanks and the other is a police version. When I get home, I’ll be happy to look up the mfg numbers so you can do a search. I’m on the road tonight and will be home tomorrow. If you don’t hear from someone else in the forum by then, I’ll look up what I’ve got. I’m not aware of any larger scales but I’m sure you could also find 1/72nd. While I’ve not started construction yet of my two kits, they appear to be of good quality and detail for the scale.

Actually Paul, I think I may not have the model # correct. It may be 320-A. I am sure that the maker is American Eurocopter. I have been trying to get some references from med.hel. pilot trade publications and magazines. I would like to find a model that is as close to the original as possible, although I am already anticipating a LOT of scratchbuilt conversion. I may even document the whole thing for future reference and maybe (dare I dream) publication. I really appreciate any help you can give me with this.

Patrick,
Is there a name of the aircraft that you can find? I’m very familiar with EMS helicopters used in the states and that would help. In the meantime, I’ll look through my references for something along the line of the 320-A.

Ok, I think I’ve got it this time. It is probably a Eurocopter AS350A/B. I had a piece of paper with the model# and the phone number of the Ops. Director(to obtain permission to photograph the unit up close) on it, but my better half cleaned the computer desk and threw it out. At least my hutch is clean, or was anyway. Thanks again Paul, for all the help. Patrick.

Patrick,
Glad to be of help. That should be the aircraft I mentioned above. I know of the two 1/48th scale kits I have and I would be surpised if there aren’t versions available in 72nd scale if that’s what you want. The A-Star is a very popular aircraft and sees frequent service in EMS. Go to this web site and search for helicopters and you’ll find plenty of them. That way, you’ll be sure and find some great reference photos too.
