Need color help?

Hey all. Need help on a Tamiya F4U-1A Corsair 1/48 scale.Sorry for my name. But i do a lot of armor. What is the a good color mix or color for a navy Blue.Useing model master paint? I was gonig to a Humble paint in navy blue but I use model master paint mostly. This is my frist aircraft to do. So im new on this. Was looking for some color chips in ww2 aircrafts But no good luck.

If your doing the three tone us navy camouflage then you’ll need …sea blue and intermediate blue over white. Model master makes all these colours. There also available in other brands Gunze , Tamiya and humbrol like you said. You can always check out a color cross reference chart on the net. all the best …Peter.

Dark Sea Blue from MM is a pretty good match right out of the bottle [:)].

Regards, Rick

Well, if you find those color chips for the FS colors, you’ll be looking for FS 15042, Gloss Sea Blue. That’s probably what you want and it’s easy to find in MM or any other line of paint. Unless you’re doing the three-tone mid-war scheme, but I wouldn’t want to confuse you the first time out with a/c. You might not build another airplane, and I might need help on armor someday if I ever build any.

Thanks for the input. It’s going to be a three tone color. With some PE parts from eduard. I was looking at the sea blue a frist, but I didn’t know if it would be alright, are have to tone it down some. this is going to be my sec. bulit of a plane. Just getting to set up the colors and makeing a list for the FU4-1A Carsair. The P-47D thunderbolt Razerback from Tamiya is my first then the carsair. Im Planing it will almost take me 3 mouths or less do the first Plane. LOL. I will post some pics as it comes along.

Thanks for the input guys
