In 1/35, for modern infantry-type figures, Dragon has a good set of US Marines in Iraq from a few years ago. They are the best in plastic. They have pretty up to date weapons and gear. They are in the older DCU/BDU pattern uniforms. Fort modern troopers in ACUs, you have to go with resin. Hobby Fan has a few good figures in ACUs. Blast and Think 180 also have some good modern figures in resin. I believe Verlinden is the only one who has heads with berets. There may be some others out there, but I don’t know of them.
Verlinden has a few modern figures in 120mm. They are constantly putting out new things and release new items monthly. Check their website for more info.
Sorry to hear about your loss, tell his family thankyou for their sacrifice.
Airborne Miniatures (from Poland I think!)has a few really good modern soldiers in 120mm. I got one off of Ebay, but I have also seen them at RedLancers.com and at Colorado Miniatures. Their figures have the correct ACU’s as well as M-4s with Surefire lights PAC-4s, M68s or ACOGS, NVGs and other gear(even Zip Ties!). Hope this helps.
This is somewhat off topic, but you can purchase customized black KIA bracelets with your friend’s name, rank and whatever other info you want on it from Ranger Joes. ( www.Rangerjoes.com/kia-bracelets-custom-pack-p-2797.html )You have to buy a minimum of 5 but they are worth it. I bought some when 2 of my soldiers were killed and it was amazing how many people wanted one, it is a great way to honor and remember him.
Thank you very much for the info on the resin fig’s, much appreciated… Also a BIG thank you for the site for Ranger Joe… I will definitly look into that my friend…
