Unless you want to drill a LOT of holes in a LOT of pieces of styrene strip, I’d go for aftermarket stuff unless price is an object. Each piece of Marsden Mat, or Pierced Steel Planking, has 87 holes in it. I’ve pondered that myself as I get into building my Aleutian Theater airplanes. All of the US fields were Marsden Mat until they got paved with asphalt, and later concrete, near the end of the campaign.

These are both for the WW II version, which survives to this day in several new and lighter models.
