Started the Tamiya Gekko kit 61084 This is a kit of the early production " Irving" with 4 20mm cannon, two firing upwards at a 30 degree angle to take out enemy bombers and 2 firing downward for anti-shipping and ground attack roles. Later production aircraft had the downward firing guns removed and two more upward firing cannon installed.
This is an awesome kit. No problems what so ever with fit or anything else.The only negative I guess is it has a lot of injection pin marks but thats about it…really nice kit. Heres some pics of the inside…didn`t bother trying to sand out all the pin marks as they will not be seen once the fuselage is closed up. That said, any comments are welcome and thanks for looking!
Japanese had the coolest interior paint colors in their aircraft. I will guess this is a 1/48 scale kit? How about a picture of the box art as well, would like to be able to spot it at the LHS![Y]
Yes sir…1:48 is correct. The interior color is a mixture of Tamiya X-13 , Metallic blue and X-25, Clear green. I played around with it until it looked like the color on the side of the box. Im really lucky with the amount of time I get to spend on this hobby. I usually get anywhere between 2 and 4 hours a night! My wife is great about it, as long as I get my chores done..lol. Im also blessed with 3 very smart kids that rarely need help with homework but always want " Dear Ol Dad" to help with projects which I love to do anyway! My Sons History class is starting to get into WWII so there may be some dios in my future! I still have plenty of Japanese A/C in the stash so Ill keep em comin!

That’s cool Len. I help on projects as well. Just got done with my daughters Culture Fair project which was based on family military service. Pretty cool. Many of the kids did similar projects.
OT, yes I get more bench time every day now since my wife went back to school and needs time to herself to get her studying done. Works out well for me.
Just thought Id post an update of my progress for anyone who gives a hoot...lol. Im getting near the end…going to do some light weathering and install the fiddly bits, maybe dull coat it but I`m not sure about that yet. Anyhow…all comments are welcome, thanks for looking…
