So a B-17G was visiting here in Corvallis, OR, USA for Oregon State graduation weekend, and we went out to visit it and do a walk-through this morning. Well, my wife, sister-in-law and best friend all chipped in to put me on the 6pm flight!!!
So I just got back, and it was one of the most awesome experiences of my life!!! I went through 54 pictures inside the a/c (taxiing and during flight) and 27 on ground (of her taking off and taxiing, etc).
I’ll take them in tomorrow and will post them on Monday evening (after I scan them all in). Thought I’d share my joy with all of you!
(Now I gotta go build more of them!!!) [:D][:D][:D]
Was that ONE person or three? hehhehhehheh!!! Anyway, I am SO envious!! To take a flight in a legendary warbird is something I’ve always wanted to do. Way to go!!!
Careful guys what you wish for. If your wife’s hear your commentary in this post, they might book you one flight in a B-17 but your seat location is in the bomb bay door area. [:D][(-D][(-D][:D]
Hey Kik I am in Orange County and saw those two beauties myself when they were flying in circles low and slow everywhere. Beutiful pair in the sky, what a moment.
Good Gosh…a 17G!!! Only my most favorite airplane ever! Yea, I’m green too. Congratulations on the ride, looking forward to the pictures. Now, ya gotta do it up big for the wife…roses, dinner, ballet/opera, whatever.
We have the B-17G and a B-24 coming in this weekend, selling rides at $400 a pop. T-6’s are $250, and an OH-6 for $60. I don’t know how much my wife loves me.
