My wife bought me a flight in a B-17G!!!!!!

So a B-17G was visiting here in Corvallis, OR, USA for Oregon State graduation weekend, and we went out to visit it and do a walk-through this morning. Well, my wife, sister-in-law and best friend all chipped in to put me on the 6pm flight!!!

So I just got back, and it was one of the most awesome experiences of my life!!! I went through 54 pictures inside the a/c (taxiing and during flight) and 27 on ground (of her taking off and taxiing, etc).

I’ll take them in tomorrow and will post them on Monday evening (after I scan them all in). Thought I’d share my joy with all of you!

(Now I gotta go build more of them!!!) [:D][:D][:D]

You one lucky man. Wish I could go for a ride in one.

Was that ONE person or three? hehhehhehheh!!! Anyway, I am SO envious!! To take a flight in a legendary warbird is something I’ve always wanted to do. Way to go!!!

a b17g i am green with envy. that would be a once in a lifetime flight. i can only dream of it.

Just in case if you were dizzy and scared of heights I would gladly volunteer to take your place…lol

Wow!!
I can imagine how big the smile on your face must have been!!
Looking forward to seeing those photos!

Ladies take notes. You should all be like that. Post the images on ARC too. Thanks. way to go.

That’s awesome! Congratulations!

Which plane was it?

Your wife sounds like a ‘keeper’. Congratulations!!!

I got married and all I got was this damn lawyer!

Give your missus a big kiss from me…

(and does she have a sister???)

Smokey

Congratulations John.

That would be awesome to say the least! [tup]

I told my wife I wanted a ride in an F-15E for my birthday but I think it is going to be hard to convince the Air Force to let me do that. [(-D]

You lucky dog! Hang onto that woman, John!

Careful guys what you wish for. If your wife’s hear your commentary in this post, they might book you one flight in a B-17 but your seat location is in the bomb bay door area. [:D][(-D][(-D][:D]

BTW, I’m green with envy, John. Congrats man.

Sweet deal!!! We just had the B-17G '9-0-9" and the B-24 "Dragon and his tail in our area about a month or so ago…congratulations on your ride!!!

Hey Kik I am in Orange County and saw those two beauties myself when they were flying in circles low and slow everywhere. Beutiful pair in the sky, what a moment.

you lucky sod , what a present wow what can i say the green eyed monsters gone overtime mate good one oh dont forget the pictures

Good Gosh…a 17G!!! Only my most favorite airplane ever! Yea, I’m green too. Congratulations on the ride, looking forward to the pictures. Now, ya gotta do it up big for the wife…roses, dinner, ballet/opera, whatever.

We have the B-17G and a B-24 coming in this weekend, selling rides at $400 a pop. T-6’s are $250, and an OH-6 for $60. I don’t know how much my wife loves me.

The Nine O Nine.

This is the B-17G who was here; “Dragon” couldn’t make it, though, she was having landing gear trouble apparently.
