Those are some nice ones, especially the 4 engined stuff. A Connie or Orion would be very nice!
To add to your list I would want a B-32 Dominator, some British bombers like a Halifax and Sterling. I have also always wanted a British Liberator II.
The Liberator II was a kinda oddball of the bunch. It had a Boulton Paul turret directly behind the wing instead of behind the cockpit. This turret had 4 .303 Brownings as did the tail turret. The waist gunners also sported 2 .303s each in addition to the 2 .303s up in the nose there was also a single .303 in the “tunnel” position where the ball turret would be. Thats 15 .303s! Instead of turbocharged engines it had a 2 speed 2 stage supercharger and the engines drove Curtiss Electric props. These were mostly used in the CBI theatre against the Japanese.
hi guys,
for me it’s got to be:
regards,
nick
I would like a “good”
F8F Bearcat
F82 Twin Mustang
B-57
C-46
PT-17
All in 1/48 of course!
Accurate Miniatures has announced a re-issue of their Avenger but with markings for the Bush AC. Should be out first Quarter 2004.
See it wasnt that hard, so get cracking Trumpeter or dragon or whoever, I want to see at least 2 variants of each aircraft (obviously with the exception of the TSR2) by next Christmas!
Not too much to ask I dont think, most shouldve already been done or on the table atleast I would hope. HEHE
hey rjkplasticmod,
thanks a lot for that info!![:)][:)][:)] i’ll keep an eye out!
regards,
nick
Okay,
A-5A/RA-5C Vigilante (Ya hear that RM?? You have the drawings and engineering diagrams fer Pete’s sake!!)
B-5D-H (So I can leave that ID Models abomination in the box)
B-47E
HH-43 Huskie
T-38 Talon (Since the Sword kit is not the best…)
Hard to keep it to 5. But, here goes.
A-1E Skyraider
A/B-26K Counter Invader
C-123 Provider
P-3 Orion (wanna build a firebomber fleet!!!)
KC-97 Stratotanker (for an Alaskan firebomber!!!) (c’mon R-M you have the bare basics
in the B-29 molds)
Randie [C):-)]
For me its like this:
Sea Vixen FAW.2 (as in not the Dynavector kit)
Spey engined Phantom II (new tooling, not reissue of the old Fujimi RN version)
F-101 B/F Voodoo (Monogram’s old toolings need retiring)
Canberra PR.9
Lavochkin 15 (little known jet contemporary to the MiG-15)
I would like to see more Japanese aircraft, preferably from Hasegawa. My choices would be :
Mitsubishi G3M “Nell”
Kawanishi H8K “Emily”
Kawanishi H6K “Mavis”
Kawasaki Ki 48 “Lily”
Mitsubishi Ki 67 “Peggy”
Japanese aircraft choices are limited, compared to Luftwaffe, U.S., RAF, Russian, and even Italian. A new Ki 45 “Nick” would be most welcome. I don’t want to build the Nishimo kit.
I would like to see more 1/48 airfield related vehicles along the lines of Tamiya’s Kubelwagen kit to display with our aircraft. Hopefully this great little kit is the first of a series.
Cheers…Snowy.
I’m right there with you, jimz, on the Vigilante. I actually plunked down for the collectaire E-2C, but haven’t had time yet to start it. Kind of nervous about screwing it up, too! ($$$) [:)] But it’s the one aircraft in 1/48th that I’ve sought for nearly 15 years, just waiting for a kit to be made.
The top 5 would be;
P-3 Orion
PB4Y
B-2
B-47
B-66
My top 5 @ 1/48 is a dream. And it’s easy to see why. Notice a theme? Size maybe?
…and actually… anyone notice how the glidders (i.e., Waco CG-4A Hadrian) have been completely neglected? Those were used more than some of the aforementioned! You’d figure after Saving Private Ryan someone would issue them. Be interesting to see if you could fit a 1/48 scale jeep into the back of one of them. [:p]
I’d be happy to see good kits of these planes:
Su-24
Mig-23
Mig-27
Just the one, like Oggy4624, that great political casualty, the TSR2.
I don’t know if anyone else out there is a Terry Pratchett fan, but in his Discworld book,
'The Last Continent ’ (A thinly disguised Australia) politicians were put in jail as soon as they were elected, because according to one of the character’s, " It saves time".
You have to love that!
Pete
Upnorth, Hasegawa do great 48th Spey Phantoms, check em out!
Pete, they are just about to do it again with tranche 3 of the Eurofighter because some moron at the MOD see’s it as ADF only!
Check out AirForces Monthly this month, it comes with an extra 59 page mag on the Typhoon.
a5 vigilante
b36
a PLASTIC mb5, not that silver cloud thing
b52
a correct (icm) easy to build(hasegawa) spitfire mk ix
in 1/32, any of the above, same with 24
