hey guys I finished this one a while ago but I only ever posted the finished pics in actual gb thread. I have touched a few things recently as well. All comments are welcome.
[EDIT] …I didnt mention the first time but this is the tamiya 1/48th kit
Armour_freek,
Mud, mud, mud. I like it. I tend to be a let’s get them “dirty and grungy” kind of guy, so this one really caught my eye.
Not sure if it’s the photo or not, but what are the white looking areas around the hatches and glacis plate? I know sometimes when I post that things appear different in the photos than they do in real life.
Also, I think your tow cables look a bit too shiney. Again could just be the photo.
Anyway, you’ve done a great job once again. [bow].

Some tremendous weathering, very nice! The tow cables do appear a bit too shiny in spots, but that may also just be a result of the flash to take the photos. Looks like the real thing!
I’m not a big mud fan Dave, but I have to say, you’ve done an excellent job of putting that “Tiger” thru the bog! This is really a beautiful build, and I’d be sure wanting to put it in a diorama if I had the talent to be that creative. [tup][tup][tup] Semper Fi, Mike
Really a beautiful build, my friend, especially for an “out of the box” version–you are to be commended. Nice job. I would agree that the cables do look a bit shiny, although you’ve done a great job with the weathering.
I like mud and lots of weathering.
You might wish to glue the tracks on top down onto the road wheels to achieve the realistic “sag” of the tracks…but that’s a small point.
Thanks for the comments guys. The cables are a little too shiney so I will dull them down a little. I will also glue the tracks down for the correct sag
Thanks
Looks really nice. Did you use actual mud or just some sort of combination of chalks and paint? Either way, it apparently works. And did you use the plastic tow cables that I assume the kit provided or did you make them yourself? IT looks real “sweet”.
Tengel - The the build is completely out of box. The cables are standard plastic ones. The mud is a mixture of Powdered wall plaster/white glue/plastel chalk/. I apply this mixture then once its dried i paint it then dry brush it untill it looks good. thanks for your comments
Nice work Dave. Now that’s what mud weathering should look like. Excellent camo and funny you have the same # on your tank that I used on my Panther A…lol.
