my sons latest airplane

Here is what my son did today:

You gotta use your imagination, the X is the propeller, the I’s are the wings, and the C is the rudder. He brought this in to me about an hour ago, and just couldn’t resist showing it off

Hey, that’s cool! I love seeing this kind of thing, tell him way to go.

Wow! That is awesome! It’s the single engined “Flying Pancake” prototype! [:D]

Seriously, though. That’s great. Start 'em early!

Nice[(-D]

Thre kid’s a genius! - radar absorbing materials - looks like it can float and operate from unprepared areas - large cargo area - super critical wings - very crash worthy - easy maintenance - all on time and within budget.

Great idea! For some reason all my son, (who’s 5) wants to do is paint everything red?

Even the least skilled pilot can experience a “soft landing” with that one. In all seriousness, that’s display-case material, right next to Dad’s planes.

Great stuff. I’m sure a very cool moment when he brought it in - probably a big smile on his face [:)]

Leon

Just like Daddy! And that is a good thing.

And don’t forget that it is also capable of cleaning up after the action is over.

Excellent work!

Has your son seen the movie High Plains Drifter? Doesn’t he have the whole town painted red in that movie?

He shows a lot of creativity with that little gem.

Regards, Rick

That is great!

There are some who look at model building as a waist of time. If one looks at what your son has done one would see the creativity, hand/eye coordination, following instructions, use of tools, and his immagination. Someday he may be the one that “builds the better mouse trap”. His “airplane” indicates that he has learned much more while watching you than you ever immagined. Be proud of him. I can tell you from experience that he also hears what you say. So, if there are words that you would not want him to repeat at precisely the wrong time then be careful what you say when he is within ear-shot.

A word to the wise. Many years ago my son repeated something I said when I slipped with a wrench and banged my knuckles. He repeated it while having the Reverand over for Sunday dinner. My wife wanted to — ah, you get the idea!

Thanks for sharing this with us. It is one of those great moments in modeling IMHO.
