My son took first ,second and third in his class at his first model contest this last week end.[:D]
He was extatic and he has been on a high ever since.
He is only seven but he is showing the skills of excellent future builder.[;)]
I ended up with a Best kit bashing award and an honerable mention.
But thats not all.
We also got to walk around inside the spruce goose.
Their also was an SR-71 there and it was most excellent.
One of the better musiums for aviation I have been too.
All in all a great week end.(except for the speeding ticket I got on the way their).[:(!]
congratulations to both of you. thats whats so special about this hobby, father and son can compete and win together.
Congrats to you and your son, James. I’ve never joined any model contest yet so I don’t know how it feels to win. But I bet it feels very very goooooood.
If you had told the officer where you were going, he may not have ticketed you. You never know.
Congrats to you and your son! Good luck to him (and you) in the future!

Well done. Both of you. Nice to see youngsters still interested in this hobby and even nicer to see families still doing things together.
Thats great ,I hope when my son gets a bit older he will show a keen interest too.
Tell your son congratulations and one for yourself also James. That sounds like a really great time y’all had [:D]

Outstanding! Congratulations are in order for both of you. Of course, you have to realize this thread is worthless without pics!!
Great to see a father and son involved together. My son and I are attempting the same.
You know, once you have your son’s heart, you don’t have to worry much about anybody else taking it!

Congrats James! How proud of your boy are ya. Lets have some pics of the winning models man. I got pulled over last week, the cop came to the car and said “I stopped you because you were going well above the speed limit.”
I replied, “Well gimme a break man, I’ve been drinking.”
madda
Congrats to both your son and you James … just one question though…
Where are the pics of these winning entries? … hmmmmmm
Congratulations to you and your son, James.
You probably should have told the cop that you know madda [:D]
Now, how about some pix of the winning entries! [:)]
Hey by the way, Robert (shermanfreak), is that the new Canadian flag? I LIKE IT!!..Gotta get me one.[;)]
Congrats James to the both of you. The best memories of my sons was the joy of being with them when they competed. It was wonderful to see them win, but it was also nice to be there when they lost and I was able to give immediate support.
James, a hearty congratulations to the both of you! You must be very proud of your son. My boy is only 3 months old, but I look forward to the day he builds his first model. I hope I can have the same experience with my son in years to come.
Well done!
Congrats to you and your son. I’ll bet you are bursting with pride. Another fine
tradition carried on from father to son.
Thats worth bragging about James!
A big WELL DONE to your son and a slap on the back to you.
Golf clap all around.
(demono, no chance…his son was in the car, he was going to get the ticket) but James don’t let it give you a sour note for the day. For you and your son to win at the same show and share that experience would be worth a hundred tickets.

Way to go James, that is worth bragging about. [^] What were the models you and your son entered? As for the Spruce Goose, I have driven by there many times, but haven’t stopped in yet. I’m glad to know its worth the time. Doesn’t Tillamook also have a museum? I thought there was a BF-109 at the one where the Goose is, true? Oh yeah- Go Ducks!

Congratulations to you and jr. I love it when a young modeler wins a contest with something he has built. To see the look on his face and how that look stays there the rest of the day.
If you don’t have pics at lest tell us what you guys won with.
Congratulations to you and your son. I bet he’s just as proud as a peacock about winning his first contest. Looks like you set a great example for him to follow.
I managed to make it to the show at the Evergreen museum, my first model show ever and how should I say this…hmmm…I was very humbled even by the work of the junior modelers. So big congratulation to your son and you James!
All I can say about the Goose is, That’s one big seaplane! Very impressive.
Tigerman, both museums have a bf109 on display, and oh yes “Go Beavers”
And one last thing. I made the 60 mile round trip without getting a ticket even though I was driving the wife’s firebird on bueatiful twistie country roads. [:)]
Hey, Hey…
Congrats to you and your son.
I too would like to see the pics of the award winners!
