Just by chance, I found this beat-up old photo on another forum;
I thought; “Gee, that Sturmtiger looks familar.” [;)]
This is the vehicle I based mine after. I have only seen two other photos of this particular vehicle. Too bad this one is not in better shape. It is from PzStuMrBtr. 1002, captured by US forces near the town of Minden, Germany on April 14th, 1945.
I never expected to see another photo of it. [8-]

dumb question but got me thinking: what i’m wondering is why they bothered putting zimmerit on it. i didn’t think those were supposed to get that close to the enemy forces. i know i wouldn’t send one of those charging against trenches. or was it originally a tiger that got converted after it already had the zim? was it the possibility of a surprise attack by guerillas?

By the way, your sig looks great! Especially knowing it is accurate to a real one and the amount of research you put into it. Stuff like that is what keeps me doing this.
