My Second Model ever built: Vought Corsair F4U 1/2 Birdcage.

Hi guys,

About two months ago I submitted pictures of my first model ever built, well since at least 20 years ago. I am now submitting my second model for comments, ideas, suggestions, etc: Tamiya 1:48 scale Chance Vought F4U 1/2 Birdcage Corsair. Mine is the Marine Corps example based out of the manual. Still struggling with the cockpit canopy masking, using tamiya masking tape.

Looks pretty sharp to me! Nice work!

Wow… the second model that I ever built was hardly recognizable as one… Well done!

Looks good ! That weathering turned out nice too. One beaten up warbird.

Very nice! I like that.

Looks good! You went for the weathering and everything.

I think I ‘painted’ my first half-dozen models with a Q-tip and gloss Testor’s enamels. I don’t think a P-38 was supposed to have fuzz on the wings…

Bang up job, Alfonso! What ticks me off is that your 2nd model looks better than my 200th model. Ha-ha-ha! Great job on the Corsair. I loved the weathering on the wings.

Eric

Thanks so far for the great comments.

Gads, looks good!

She’s a real beauty! You did a great job all the way around!! Keep up all of your good work!!!

I agree that the weathering is pretty neat. Thanks for taking the time to post it. Bob

Looks good to me!

Dang! That DOES look nice! Your weathering turned out excellent, I think. Nice job! [Y]
