Here is a link to my pictures of some of the model entries and activities that went on at Wonderfest 2007. I got to meet Matt Usher for a few minutes during the Saturday night activities which included alot of pizzas and raiding the table for spare model parts. The parts were almost all gone which is a surpise since last year they had a 30 gallon trash bag of parts still left over. There are over 200 pictures in the link so take heeed if you are in a hurry.
Some cool stuff! I would love to make the trip one year but it’s just not in the budget for me. Thanks for sharing pics, next best thing to being there ![]()
Actually if you buget right you can do it for between 400-600 dollars. Worse comes to worse.if you can’t afford to buy anything that weekend you can always get a business card or a URL for a web site of any dealer there. Also just like many other conventions deals are to be had not only the last day of the weekend but they also have early bird specails on Saturday that give you first shot at whats new. This year I volunteered to help with the make and take for the whole weekend and it was worth it. For doing that I got a free weekend pass and I used that cash to go towards the early bird pass on Saturday. The Executive West Hotel has a breakfast Buffet that runs from 6am-9am I think and anyone that knows goes there to eat all they can for around 8 or 9 dollars. There is also a Macdonalds a few bolcks east of the hotel and it’s open 24 hours a day. Here is a link to the Wonderfest page for this year on Starship Modeler where you can get a better idea of how it can be done fairly cheap.
Besides the expense, which I could probably suck up if I wanted it bad enough the hardest part for me is the time off. Still sounds like a lot of fun though.
I know what you mean. I was ready to go for Wonderfest 2005 when things got sidetracked at the last minute by family issues. Best part is that as far as anyone knows,Wonderfest isn’t going away anythime soon.
