Well, here is my finished Sherman. had a little booboo with the decals. Apparently I bumped one of the Classy Peg decasl, causing a small wrinkle, which in turn made the diamond below a tad crooked. You need to look close, but I know it’s there. Sometime in the future, I will find a replacement and fix it. Also, I found a pic of my tank and was sort of bummed it had nothing in the way of storage, so I left it off. Suggestions and comments are welcome.
Thanks Hellboy. Welcome to the forums. This place is great for learning new things. My skills have really increased from learning from these guys. Yes, it is the Tamiya M4A3. A very nice build. I did everything right out of the box
Nice work. I like the finish you put on it. If you shortened the tracks, how did you do it? I have a sherman with tracks about two links too short. Yours looks great.
Matt
Good work all around Jason. Really like the finish on the old Sherm. One question, Was the Toshiba remote a standard GI issue? You may need to check you references
[:-^][:-^]
matthew- I shortened it by trimming off one link from either end. One end has two male bars that fits into the other which has two female bars. I cut off one male and one female and the guidehorn.
Ted- that was a dio of when the US invaded the Toshiba factory in early 1945.
Looks good, Thumbs up! Thanks for the tip on the tracks. What color/brand is the paint? It’s going to be very dangerous for my credit card when alot of these tamiya 1/48 things start showing up on the shelves. My subconcious will not be affected. My subconcious will not be affected. Thanks. I-beam- the base coat is Model Master acrylic Olive drab with some sprayed patchy Green drab and some slightly lightened olive drab. The lower portions were misted with Tamiya buff. I put some weathering powder over the whole deal. Tracks are Tamiya hull red, a dark dark grey mix for the pads and silver drybrushings over a heavy brown and black wash
