this is an old Monogram kit that I picked up for $3.00 at a show. I figured how hard could it be, boy did I put some hair out with this one.
I couldn’t understand how a kit with so few pieces could be such a pain in the butt.
It was built SOB done in floquil’s old silver. I’m pleased with the way it came out considering it’s the first wingy thing I’ve built in more years then I can remember.
My P47 is a tough ole bird. It can take all the flak you can put up there, so fire away.

Well worth the effort. I still fall in that trap → “ehhhh…how hard can this be, I’ll have it done inna week”. ->phhhtttppp, not bloody likey.

Looks like a very nice, tidy build, trevor. I can’t really offer any advice, as I too, tried building a plane the other day and struggled badly!
I built that kit when I was a kid, I think. Mine had decals that said “The Turtle” , and it had a little turtle on it. That was just too cool, back then. I loved the old monogram kits; it was all about the boxart, for me.

phroosh, no box art with this kit. It came in a sealed plastic bag. hmm, maybe it’s those darn boxes that make these models so expensive.

Great-looking Thunderbolt!! I’ve got a couple waiting to be built myself, and I hope that they come out half as nice as yours. BUT, I was just wondering, what is meant by the “SOB” acronym above? I can’t figure it out.

Just out of curiosity, and not to hijack the thread or nuthin’ but in the background of the third picture is a book that looks very nuch like it’s entitled, “The Jeep Complete.” Is that the compilation of TM9-803, TM9-803A, and TM9-803B for the WillysMB/Ford GPW?
