Never been around one. Though supposedly some were found in the Chico/Oroville area of CA ( close to where I grew up ) back in the day when they were using the big water monitors to hydraulic mine the area, but think they weren’t true diamonds.
Yep! We all have em. Boats may not be as expensive as a horse or an aeroplane, but don’t bet on it!!

She’s an old cray boat built in Strahan, Tasmania in late 40’s early 50’s. Initialy she had a cabin the size of an outdoor dunny, (sorry, Aussie slang for toilet), and a ‘well’ uo forward. I had her stripped down to the hull and she looked like a viking longboat because she’s double ended. We called her the J P Corio after my wifes father who was a Royal Marine in WWII. She is 30 feet long, made of Kauri pine and I’ve installed a Volvo Penta 75hp turbo. She has a small galley, heads with a shower and can sleep 4.

Hey Keavdog, any time you’re in OZ, you and anybody else from the forums has somewhere to stay in Lakes Entrance and as much fishing time as you want. I had the honour of meeting some of your firefighters who were working here after the fires last Christmas. One of them was from Florida and I met him at our local pub. I was wearing a T that had “shut up and fish” on it in very large letters. Anyway this bloke loved it, so I took it off and gave it to him and he was stoked. So you could say I have given the shirt off my back to your firefighters.

My other hobbies include playing music (drums/percussion) at home and studio. I played out professionally for around 30 years before slowing down to take time with my special needs son. I still manage to get several hours of play time per week.
Another passtime I enjoy is motorcycling, I own two. One is a sport bike with a side car so Jarrod (my son) can ride with me. The other is my Harley that I use to go one up.
Outside of that I still enjoy some time at the range. Just a month ago I helped Jarrod hit his first clay bird with my Ruger Red Label O/U; and he totally enjoyed it. Currently I like to shoot pin tops, steel target, 22 bench, trap, and skeet. I would like to get back into IDPA defensive pistol shooting sometime too.

That is so cool, I too once played jazz professionally. Traveled around the with my band Jazz Attack. I also have been a musician for 30+ years. Thanks to my father of which whom also played the trumpet like myself and professionally worked till the day he died. What you so do is inspirational with your son! Good luck to you both.

I try to alternate between the stamps and building. But lately, a number of months its been just modelling. Eventually i like to start on Dead countries. Here are 2 stamps i noticed in a 3lb bunble i have to sort 1 day. A cover index for some perfins and a duplicates pages albulm i have set aside.

I’ve never seen such a philatelic collection like yours. That’s absolutely stunning! I’m most intrigued by your collection. Do you have other collections or albums in that you’d like to share? Please do so.

I like to collect different types of cutlery like fixed blade,folding,tomahawks,military and hunting types.
My Summer is taken up putzing around in my perennial garden. It’s pretty much a daily job keeping up with weeds, trimming plants and planting new plants. This was an awful year for gardening in the Chicago area. Dryest and hotest Summer on record. Sprinkling is not a replacement for rain water. Starting tomorrow (Sunday) we are supposed to get five days of rain. Feast or famine.
hi Toshi - do you a particular country in mind? My last bit was working on the Indian Feudatory States But I have more. Let me know and when I get home tonight I’ll try to get em up…

Not really, but feel free to display them in this thread. I’m always inquisitive in learning and seeing new concepts and styles of philately. Both Mrs. Toshi and I were born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii. I’m slowly and surely trying to build up my Kingdom of Hawaii stamps. I would love to own some Missionary stamps on cover but that’s such a rare collection.
Check out my other thread; “The Hermit Kingdom”. I just received those stamps the other day. I sent for them out of extreme curiosity. I’m awaiting covers from WWII, one is a cover dated on the day of the signing of the Japanese surrender aboard the;" Mighty Mo"! There’s another cover that was censored mail during WWII.
I’m enjoying my time by following through with my interest in WWII aircraft model building and stamps/memorabilia from that era! Thank you sir for your kind words and interest in my thread, I greatly appreciated and looking forward to more!

I have been a sushi chef trained by the student of the official sushi chef of the Empreror of Japan. I am now retired as a Edo Mae Zushi Chef. But I’ll post my knives made by Masamoto cutlery. They are hand forged and made exactly in the style of the traditional samurai sword where it’s pounded and continuously bent in the process to eliminate impurities.

That is a delightfully beautiful garden! Although I live in a apartment/condo complex my neighbor with Ezra has planted these items for the summer! It’s nothing compared to your garden but Ezra and I enjoy the blooms in the day.
