My Ostfront Workbench: Nebelkraftwagen

So I signed up for the Ostfront GB a while back, as I figured that 80% of my stash was Ostfront-related [for no particular reason]… So I’m just going to keep an up-to-date running workbench and hopefully you guys like what I build. I will start with the AFV Club Nebelkraftwagen with LionRoar Nebelwerfer, and I’ll move on from there. This thread will probably continue for about the next year. Anyways, school is going to be a bit overwhelming (to say the least), but I’ll do what I can to keep building as much as possible when my work load permits it. I decided to start this one a bit early, as I wanted to finish that StuG WIP I started at Christmas, but I needed something ot keep me occupied in between sessions of such tediousness. I will be writing an article on this first build, and hopefully the FSM folk will like it. Below I’ll add a running table of contents so you guys can easily locate my builds.

1) AFV Club Nebelkraftwagen (Sd.Kfz. 11/4) towing a LionRoar 150 mm Nebelwerfer 41 (both with extras).

OR OPTION B:

OMG, I remember those stupid Nebelwurfer(sp?) from the very first mission in Medal of Honor: Allied Assault. Scared the bejeebus out of me when those things went off in the game. This looks to be a cool build!

Looks like an ambitious project, can’t help you on the bumper question unfortunately but will follow along with interest on this one. [Y]

Looks like a cool, but daunting project.

Thanks guys! I’m already pretty far into it, with about half of the original kit parts off of the sprues, and at least 1/4 of the PE done- and that’s only after about 6 hours.

Now another question: Though this doesn’t really matter right now, the Eduard set provides two types of number plates: the earlier rectangular ones, and the later ones witht he corners cut off- Do I use the earlier ones or the later ones if I want to have my vehicle towing the Nebelwerfer?

Also, could the bumper perhaps depend on whether it was an earlier or later vehicle?

Bumper style is likely down to changes to the vehicle in terms of “early” vs. “late” features, quite plausible in fact.

I would tend to go with the cut-corner plates myself if given the option.

With a ton of school work and numerous college apps, I haven’t had much bench time. But construction is about 8 hours from completion, so I’ll post more pics and details then, methink. I think its turning out well so far, and I’m looking forward to getting to the Nebelwerfer segment of this build.
