I agree with all of you. IUntil I found this site, I have never really belonged to any club or modellers group, other than my own club of one. Now, I have proof that there are those out there that are just as insane as I am about the hobby, and those thoughts comfort me when I’m alone at my desk. It truly is a pleasure being part of something as great as this forum.

I am very new to this forum, but have found it very useful. Before moving to Adelaide I belonged to a very good club based in Canberra, yet to join a club in Adelaide. I have found the FSM forum to be on par with a club membership, in fact one can say in reality the forum is a world wide modelling club.
I am looking forward to good realationship with other members of the FSM world wide modelling club.

Hey, J-Hulk - this may be slightly OT here, but I have a pronunciation question for you, and you, probably better thanyone else, will able to quell my curiosity. Just exactly how is “Tamiya” pronounced in Japan ? Is it tah-MEE-yah, tah-MY-yah, or something else all together ? (please don’t tell me that its pronounced "Plastic of the Gods !)

The actual pronunciation is “taw-mee-yaw,” with no stress on any syllable. I grew up pronouncing it with the “ta” like in “tank”, like the North American that I am, so it’s taken some getting use to saying it like “Tom” over the last 10 years or so.
Just pretend it’s the great 17th century English poet, Tom E. Yaw…

Bottle or can? Maybe we should all try to get together at some time in the future. We could pick some place like Vegas and go there for a week. Make it at a time where we would be able to plan the trip, say like the second anniversary of the web site opening. We might even be able to get FSM to sponsor the event. We could even try to make it an annual event in different locations. Just a wild suggestion.
